Toddler Bed - Modifications
I made a toddler bed for my daughter and liked the look of this youtube video the best: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94NfbEi1QE0
While I love the square look much better of his… The landscaping timbers on hand at my homedepot were way too wet and I was also a little unsure of my table saw to get good square cuts. I instead did it with 2x3’s. The comment section the Op indicates it can be done but doesn’t indicate you’d need to adjust measurements. Upon building it I quickly discovered I was gonna have to do some math and trigonometry to adjust for this. This fortunately only impacts the 4 pieces that make up peaks in the middle. Here are the alterations you need to make.
ORIGINAL (using 2.75”x2.75”): 43” at 22 degrees.
ALTERED (using 2x3): 41 43/64” (105.85cm) at 22.5 degrees.
I went with 22.5 degrees since my saw had that marked out easier. In order to make the 41 43/64” cut I just converted it to centimeters as it was easier to get a more precise mark but honestly doing it with the closest fraction would have been fine too.
