Nokia Temporary Battery Charger (4)
When the charger stopped working on my phone, i needed a way to charge the battery. I ordered a replacement but it was going to take a week. So, in the mean time i rigged up this rudimentary but effective battery charger using two paperclips, a block of wood, and a power supply capable of supplying a constant current. (7-05) -
Zigbee Smartdust Project (10)
I built a zigbee evaluation test platform consisting of a small motherboard which connects to chipcon's 2420EB. Daughter cards can also connect to main board to allow for application specific hardware to gather information and distribute it throughout the network. (4-05) -
Terp Fountain (3)
pictures of a fountain Ben and I put together to dispense drinks for our party. The fountain keeps everything stirred up... (4-05) -
MPIntrepid (14)
pictures from my computer car project -
ENEE498C Project (5)
Pictures of the PCBs i created for a class project which was spun off from the research i was doing with Dr. Goldsman. The project was to build a gps enabled walkie talkie which allowed family members to find each other. (Fall 2003) -
calvert hall trussing (5)
put up trussing in my apartment i lived in freshman year. Since the apartment was on campus there weren't allowed to be any screws in the walls so this trussing system completely wedged in and the wires were routed along a grove on the back. -
Ultimate Prototyping LCD (7)
pictures of a prototyping LCD i constructed using a serial LCD which had jumpers which could easily change the configuration (logic level input, baud rate, etc.) and was mounted in an case which would standup on your desk. (Summer 2003) -
Parking Spot Recaller (57)
a small device which attaches to your keyring and lets you save the floor and section number of where you parked your car and recall at the push of a button. MORE COMING SOON! (2-04) -
CMOS Ring Oscillator (12)
Ring Oscillator IC design designed in cadence and fabricated by MOSIS. (2-04) -
Variable Intensity Brake Light (8)
a proof of concept for using mems accelerometers for use as a variable intensity brake lights. (Spring 2003) -
ENME371 Redesign Project (15)
Pictures from a redesign project i took in the fall of 2004. We redesigned the DeWALT433 belt sander by adding "anti-gouging" circuitry which consisted of pressure sensors towards the front and rear of the sander to indicate when uneven pressure was being applied. -
Broadcast Radio Circuits (2)
contains some misc pictures from an FM Radio i designed and an educational kit i assembled to learn the basics of how superhetrodyne radio receivers work. (Summer 2003) -
RDS Decoder (4)
pictures of an RDS decoder built on a breadboard which uses the radio off of an ISA PC Tuner Card -
Motorized Blind Controller (2)
My mom didn't want a "kneeding fingers" back massager anymore so i deceided to put the motors to good use as a motorized blind controller. I accidently fried the stamp i was going to use wiring up the final power supply and never fixed it :( (10-04) -
ATI AIW 8500DV - Clone Mode Options (14)
Getting clone mode to properly work on my computer seemed to work only randomly. One day when i finally got it to work properly, i took some screen shots of all the different configuration windows. So, hopefully if you make your settings match these you can get it to work also. Note: on the overlay tab i have theatre mode selected, in this mode whenever a video clip is played on my computer it is displayed full screen on the TV connected to the TV out on my video card and when no video is being played it just displays my desktop background. (5-05) -
5V Regulated Supply (3)
5V supply made out of a Radio Shack's "Building Power Supplies" Book when Ben and I first got started in electronics. We built this supply to serve as our powersupply for all our digital circuits. (1998) -
Morningstar - Solar Panel Controllers Testing Facility. (16)
pictures from the solar panel controllers testing shed i put together to allow the company to do long term testing on it's products. (Summer 2001) -
Zachary Andrew Weiland's First Xmas (2)
The year we got our CNC milling machine in our lab i made my nephew a special first Xmas Ornament -
Reset Productions - Chasing Strobe Light (14)
One of my first projects: a chasing strobe light circuit built to mimic a strobe setting I thought was really neat at a rave. Designed to be used one of the lights at our production companies events. -
Reset Productions - Lighting Control Unit (4)
A simple lighting controller made out of electrical parts laying around and some parts from the local hardware store. It was the perfect little lighting control for a production company on a tight budget. Ahhh the good old days... ( 1-1999) -
Alertus - Business Plan Competition Demo (8)
pictures of the mock up emergency warning receiver put together for the Maryland Business Plan Competition. -
GPS+TinyTrak+FRS (1)
a proof of concept for sending digital GPS data over a FRS radio using Binary Phase Shift Keying Modulation withing the audible frequency range. -
GPS Datalogger (5)
Application circuit based off the GPS Receiver, Datalogger, and LCD classes i wrote for the Javelin Stamp microcontroller. -
Delayed Shutdown Controller (6)
circuit i designed for my friend which would keep his stereo system on until he opened his car door or if the battery voltage dropped below a threshold. -
vibrating pacifier (8)
pictures of one of my first inventions... pictures are of the 4th version of the product. See http://www.ravegadgets.com -
PS2 ModChip Install (7)
pictures taken while taking the PS2 apart... primarily just to verify how it should go back together. -
Frequency Counter w/ Parallel Port Interface (3)
A frequency counter that could be controlled using software i wrote in C. This was the first PCB i ever designed <3 -
Parallel Port Breakout Box (2)
pictures for a circuit i built to help debug my parallel port control software. The PCB was made using a homebrew iron on then etch method. -
